Story

We wondered what was the first word that came to mind when we were thinking about cinema. So, faced with a blank sheet, we simply followed our instincts and wrote what our passion dictated us: anima.
ANIMA is a project created to propose a different vision of cinema. A cinema attentive to new technologies and new ways of expression, proposing contemporary themes and with a sensitivity towards the human condition.
For us, cinema is a mission.

Our effort is to strive to create an image that can remain etched in the viewer’s memory.

Each story has its own language, and we adapt our style and vision to the stories we want to tell.

Meet the Team

ANIMA is first and foremost a concept, developed by director Federico Gatti, and it is also an Italian production company founded in 2019.

Its first project is the documentary “I am not God but I am Michelangelo Antonioni”, now in post-production. The company is focused on high concept audio visual content and arthouse movies. In 2022, ANIMA produced “Un Polpo”, a surreal drama which centres around the life of a young woman who faces the metamorphosis of her fiancee into an octopus and its grotesque consequences.

Crossing genres, exploring the boundaries of Style and the Inexplicable are the keys of our work; our goal is to reach a worldwide audience proposing them a new perspective on cinema.
